Manjunath Mulimani

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Audio Analysis Lab, Aalborg University, Denmark, working with Associate Professor Jesper Rindom Jensen. My research focuses on machine listening and adaptive learning systems, with an emphasis on speech enhancement and continual learning in dynamic, real-world environments.

Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Machine Listening Group at Tampere University, Finland, where I worked with Associate Professor Annamaria Mesaros. My research there focused on continual learning for audio, addressing challenges such as class-, domain-, and universal incremental learning in real-world acoustic systems.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, India, under the supervision of Professor Shashidhar G. Koolagudi. My doctoral research focused on acoustic scene classification and sound event detection, contributing to data-driven approaches for real-world audio understanding.

My broader research agenda is to develop intelligent audio systems that can continuously learn, adapt, and generalize across evolving environments, bridging the gap between static models and lifelong learning systems.
